CHECKLIST:
Preparing your home
In order to ensure that your home is Picture Perfect when the photographer arrives, we have a checklist of suggestions for preparing your home below. Or, if you prefer, you may download the Picture Perfect Checklist and email it to your clients.
Exterior

Move garbage cans out of sight

Make sure garage doors and windows are closed

Remove all garden tools including hoses and sprinklers
-
Mow, trim bushes and remove toys from the yard
-
Sweep driveways, sidewalks and patios
-
Remove all vehicles from driveways and do not park directly in front of the house
Interior
-
Turn off all ceiling fans
-
Open and raise all blinds when possible
-
Turn on all interior lights. Make sure all bulbs are in working order
-
Clear off counter tops in kitchen and bathroom areas
-
Remove photos, magnets, notes and papers from the refrigerator
-
De-clutter rooms which may be excessively furnished
-
Make all beds and tidy bedrooms
-
Clothes hung, or folded and put away
-
Remove piles of newspaper and magazines
-
Tuck trash cans out of view in a closet or cupboard
-
Pick up all scatter rugs
-
Loose wires/ cables out of sight as much as possible
-
Personal photos/ names on things removed
-
Contain pets in the garage or out of sight. Put away all water and food bowls
-
We normally do not photograph the garage, closets unless they have special features
-
If you have special features of your home that are not obvious, please let us know about these so we include them in the shoot
TWILIGHTS
Exteriors
-
Remove all vehicles from driveways and do not park directly in front of the house

Move garbage cans out of sight

Make sure garage doors and windows are closed

Remove all garden tools including hoses and sprinklers

Sweep driveways, sidewalks and patios

Turn on all exterior lights including porch, pool/landscaping lights if applicable

Make sure motion detection/bright floodlights are OFF

Turn on inside garage lights
Interior

Open and/or raise all blinds when possible

Open curtains including sheers
-
Turn on all interior lights including closets and any other rooms with windows
-
Make sure all bulbs are in working order
-
Place extra lamp under/by windows in rooms with dim lighting
During the Shoot
-
Do not be in front of any window
-
Be sure to not turn off any lights until you are sure the photographer has finished
GOAL IS TO MAKE YOUR HOME GLOW FROM THE INSIDE OUT
NOTE: To ensure a successful shoot, please have the home ready to photograph BEFORE the photographer arrives as we operate on a fixed schedule.
